The History of Badger Realty
Once upon a time, in the winter of 1946, Dick Badger came to the Mt. Washington Valley to be a ski bum. He took a job working at the New England Inn for that ski season. After working at numerous ski resorts, both in New England and out west, and joining the Marines, Dick met his soon to be wife and decided to settle down in the Mt. Washington Valley. He got his real estate license in 1962 and took a job working as a Manager for Charles Pinkham of Pinkham Real Estate from 1962-1965.
The year was 1965 and Dick decided to start his own real estate agency, naming his new endeavor Badger Realty. Little did he know that what he was creating would be one of the most successful Real Estate Agencies in the Mt. Washington Valley.
When Dick first opened the office in North Conway, he had a secretary, and one other sales person. Since then, Badger Realty has grown from two full time REALTORS to 22 full time sales people with 5 full time support staff members and an in-house advertising and graphics artist. Badger Realty’s North Conway office has been in the same location since it first opened in 1965.
In 1996, Dick opened another office in Jackson Village.
Currently, Dick and his business partner Brenda Leavitt can be found in the office every weekday and are very proud of the longevity and success of the business.
